Starpoint Radio is constantly looking at ways to improve its service and programming. Andrew started DJ’ing in 2004 but his love for music began years before, influenced greatly by his father’s record collection of Ska, reggae, Lover’s Rock and Soul Music not to mention two uncles in a reggage band playing with groups such as Aswad! They too had a vast record collection of funk, soul, hip-hop and Rare Groove and so the foundation was laid! It wasn’t until 2004 that Andrew honed his DJ skills and ascertained a deep knowledge of dance music by warming up for the legendary sound system Soul II Soul under the careful guidance of Jazzie B & Aitch B at the Parker McMillan in Barbican. He also hosted a night at the 5th anniversary of Soul II Soul’s Back II Life music festival in Antigua which includes nights hosted by Norman Jay, Soul II Soul, Trevor Nelson & David Rodigan. Andrew has been hosting monthly nights for almost two years at the Underbelly in Hoxton Square, a thriving area in Shoreditch playing a diverse mixure of House, Soul, Funk & Old Skool Hip Hop. Join Andrew every Tuesday night between 21:00 – 23:00.
